If you are looking for a way to impact lives for local families this holiday season, then here is your chance.
When David Cotty, Jr. was sworn in as Chief of Fire District 3 in Doyline back in September he stated that his primary focus, other than keeping the community safe, was to be involved in the community as much as possible.
In keeping with his vision, Taylor Loftin Simons, public relations personnel, had the idea to help three local families this Christmas.
“I wanted something for OUR village, OUR neighbors, the people you see when you walk into the Doyline Country Store. THEY are the ones we should be helping,” Taylor said.
Her idea was proposed and approved at the November board meeting and has now come to life, with the help of the entire fire department, as the Community Christmas Gift Drive.
“Everyone always asks how to thank a fire fighter. Our answer: help us help others,” their Facebook page reads.
Let’s help them fill the firetruck!
They will be collecting donations from now through December 20 at the following locations:
Doyline Country Store, Doyline Nutrition, Fire Station #1 in Doyline and Philips Medical Corporation in Minden.
