
It was another good weekend for the Glenbrook Lady Apaches and the team picked up three softball wins and two Monday.
Glenbrook 12 East Beauregard 1
Gabi Brown collected three hits in three at bats, as Glenbrook’s Lady Apaches defeated East Beauregard 12-1 on Friday.
Glenbrook got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after Brown doubled to left field, and Hallie Harmon grounded out, each scoring one run. The Lady Apaches scored five more runs on four hits in the bottom of the second inning to put the game on ice. Big blows in the inning were a triple by Vivian Still and a Brown double.
Four more Glenbrook runs crossed the plate in the fourth inning to extend the lead to 12-0. Brown doubled, scoring one run, Harmon nailed a two-run homer and Savannah Mangrum added an RBI single.
Rebecca Mosley earned the win for the Lady Apaches, giving up three hits and one run over five innings while striking out seven and walking two.
Haynes and Mangrum also collected multiple hits for Glenbrook.
Glenbrook 9 Evangel 4
Colby Hollis collected three hits to help lead the Glenbrook Lady Apaches past the Evangel Christian Academy Lady Eagles 9-4 on Saturday.
Glenbrook jumped out to the lead in the bottom of the second inning on a Hadley Haynes run scoring groundout, a Hollis two-run double and an Evangel error. The Lady Apaches added to their lead in the bottom of the third when Ellie Earnhardt walked and Chloe Gregg grounded out to each score a run.
Rebecca Mosley earned the win for Glenbrook, allowing four hits and four runs (two earned) over seven innings. She struck out five and walked one in the complete game effort.
Glenbrook also took advantage of eight walks in the game.
Glenbrook 7 Converse 3
Glenbrook jumped out to a lead in the bottom of the first inning and used that advantage to coast to a 7-3 win over Converse Saturday.
Vivian Still singled to drive in two runs and Gabi Brown doubled, scoring one, to highlight the inning.
Glenbrook tallied 11 hits in the game. Hadley Haynes, Colby Hollis, and Chloe Gregg each collected two hits and Still had a pair of RBI.
Savannah Mangrum earned the win for Glenbrook, going the full seven innings while giving up eight hits and three runs (two earned). She had six strikeouts and walked two.
Glenbrook 18, Southwood 1
Vivian Still went on a power trip Monday, collecting three extra-base hits and five RBI to lead the Glenbrook Lady Apaches past Southwood 18-1.
Still had a three-run home run and an RBI triple in the first inning as the Lady Apaches piled up 16 runs to start the game. She then doubled in the second to score one.
In that big inning, Colby Hollis singled, Still tripled, Gabi Brown doubled, Chloe Gregg singled, scoring one run, Hadley Haynes grounded out, scoring two runs, and Ellie Earnhardt doubled, all producing runs. Brown nailed a solo home run, Haynes delivered a three-run triple and a Southwood error closed out the scoring in the big inning.
Glenbrook tallied 11 hits in the game, with Brown and Earnhardt each collecting multiple hits. Kynzie Smith and Savannah Mangrum led the team in steals as the Lady Apaches recorded seven stolen bases for the game.
Rebecca Mosley earned the win for Glenbrook, allowing no hits and one run over three innings, striking out three and walking two. Sa’Derrica Lars took the loss for Southwood.
Glenbrook 8, Southwood 0
Another big first inning got the Glenbrook off on the right foot Monday and the Lady Apaches coasted to a sweep of the Southwood Lady Cowboys with an 8-0 win.
Seven runs crossed the plate in the opening inning for the Lady Apaches when a Savannah Mangrum single drove in three, followed by four straight run scoring walks. Glenbrook added its final run in the second when Presli Waller stole home.
Mangrum earned the win for Glenbrook giving up no hits and no runs during her three innings of work. She struck out four and walked none.
Gracie Heard and Mangrum each collected one hit for Glenbrook. Heard stole two bases.
