Doyline weekend baseball

North Webster 15, Doyline 5

Doyline led North Webster by four runs at one point in the game, but the Knights roared from behind to take a 15-5 win over the Panthers Thursday.

Doyline struck hard in the top of the second, scoring five runs on two hits to take the lead, 5-1. The big blow of the inning was a single by Noah Spears that drove in two.

North Webster came right back in the bottom of the second, scoring six runs on three hits to take a 7-5 lead on the strength of  a bases-loaded triple by Nathan Bernard.

Gillentine earned the win for North Webster, giving up two hits and five runs (one earned) while striking out three and walking four. Zach Normand took the loss for Doyline.

Spears led the Panthers, going one-for-two with two runs batted in. Normand, James Dodge, Jonas Florence, and Spears each collected one hit for Doyline.

North Webster piled up 10 hits in the game led by McKenzie with a two-for-three day at the plate. Tyler Brown and Bernard each drove in three runs for the Knights.

Doyline 16, Homer 6

Kenneth Anderson collected three hits in four at bats Friday to lead the Doyline Panthers past Homer 16-6 Friday.

Doyline scored five times on three hits in the bottom of the third inning to get things on the right track, then added seven more in the bottom of the fifth to seal the win.

Dario Galvez earned the win, going three and one-third innings while giving up two hits and four runs. He struck out six and walked four. Issgothe took the loss for Homer.

Doyline picked up 12 hits in the game with Ayden Moreno-Taule and Florence each collecting multiple hits to join Anderson. Moreno-Taule, James Dodge, and Anderson each stole multiple bases for Doyline as the Panthers stole nine.
