
Doyline 7, Huntington 5
Doyline’s Panthers took advantage of 11 walks issued by Huntington pitchers and strolled to a 7-5 win over the Raiders Tuesday.
Two walks and a Noah Spears single, wrapped around a Huntington error, helped the Panthers take a 4-3 lead in the bottom of the third before Huntington tied it again in the fourth.
Doyline took the lead for good in the bottom of the fifth when a Cooper Hayes sacrifice fly scored two runs, putting the Panthers up 6-4.
James Dodge earned the win and Zach Normand picked up a save for Doyline.
Dario Galvez, Jonas Florence, and Spears each collected one hit for Doyline. The Panthers added four stolen bases in the game.
Doyline Lady Panthers 7, Loyola College Prep 6
Loyola College Prep’s Lady Flyers managed to collect more hits but fell short on the run side as the Doyline Lady Panthers held on for a 7-6 win Tuesday.
Loyola jumped out to the lead in the bottom of the first inning on a Jillian Drouillard two-run double and a groundout, then added another run in the third.
Doyline used a pair of Loyola errors to regain the lead at 5-4 in the top of the sixth and held on to take the win.
Savannah Stanley earned the win for Doyline and Larkin Krieg picked up the loss for Loyola.
Kanyion Bartlett led the Lady Panthers with a two-for-four day with two runs batted in. Stanley also collected two hits for Doyline.
Loyola College Prep had 10 hits in the game, led by Presley Walker and Krieg with three hits each. Anna Morris collected two hits in four at bats.
