Project Reclaim of Minden has implemented a plan that will help attending students achieve much higher math skills, and their participation has won an award.
“Project Reclaim implemented Ascend Math® to enhance students’ math knowledge and skills utilizing a multi-tiered RTI implementation model,” said Project Reclaim Executive Director Ron Anderson. “The students at Project Reclaim have shown significant improvement in performance.”
And because the students attend different schools at different points in their lives, their accomplishments have spread throughout each school at every grade level.
A Gold Medal Award was awarded to Project Reclaim as a Gold Medal School. The award comes from Ascend Math®.
Ascend Math® is personalized online math instruction that provides each student with a unique study path through skill gaps at each level. Individual study plans are prescriptive, adaptive, and automatically assigned.
Ascend Math® has demonstrated results that enable students to achieve up to two or more grades level growth in one school year. This research-based program is an online individualized instructional resource which identifies skill gaps, prescribes targeted instruction and motivates students to succeed. Schools may use Ascend Math® as a Core Math Curriculum or a Supplemental Math Curriculum to target the needs of special populations including Tier II and Tier III Interventions, Special Ed, Gifted and Talented, Algebra Readiness, Acceleration and Credit Recovery.
RTI implementation involves a multi-tiered approach to provide academic and behavioral support to all students, with a focus on early intervention and data-driven decision-making. It starts with universal screening, then provides high-quality instruction to all students (Tier 1), followed by targeted interventions for students who need additional support (Tiers 2 and 3). Progress monitoring and data collection are crucial for adjusting interventions and ensuring they are effective.
“We have been using the program since 2019. It was donated to us by Kevin Briley, the founder and CEO,” Anderson said. “Our kids third grade and older – a total of 50 youth – in the Afterschool Program are on the Ascend Math® platform.”
