Because of frequent rain storms north in Arkansas and Oklahoma, Bayou Dorcheat at Dixie Inn is over its banks.

At 7 p.m. Sunday, the stage was 17.6 feet and was expected to crest at 20.5 feet Tuesday. However, by 9 a.m. Tuesday, it had dropped to 16.7 feet and should fall to below flood stage Wednesday afternoon and continue falling. Flood stage is 14.0 feet.

Flooding is predicted to continue in Springhill, Dixie Inn and Lake Bistineau areas.

The boat ramp at Dixie Inn (above) is completely flooded and moderate to severe flooding of bayou bottoms is expected for a few more days.
