Springhill is set to bring the heat on Saturday, June 21, as North Webster High School hosts the first-ever North Webster Main Street Invitational 7v7 Football Tournament at Baucum-Farrar Stadium.
“No one has ever done a home-based tournament on their home field in high school, and we just want to showcase our community and town,” said North Webster Head Football Coach and Athletic Director, Christopher Wilson. “We’re trying to bring a different vibe and offer something new for our community.”
Ten high school teams from across the state are set to compete, including North Webster, Haughton, LaGrange, Booker T. Washington, Calvary Baptist, Magnolia, Huntington, Woodlawn and Carroll High School.
Pool play begins at 9 a.m., followed by single elimination rounds at 1 p.m. The championship game will kick off at 3 p.m. Each team is guaranteed a minimum of five games.
The event will feature food trucks, a live DJ, and a photographer, making it a fun day out for families and fans. Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for kids. Parking will be limited due to ongoing construction.
Sponsorships are still being accepted to help cover officiating costs and provide a hospitality room for all coaches. Contact Coach Wilson at christopher.wilson@websterpsb.org for more information if you are interested in being a sponsor.
