Doyline Waterworks District #1 has issued a boil advisory effective Wednesday, June 17, following a series of mishaps that impacted the main water line.
According to the Doyline mayor, the issue began when Entergy accidentally damaged a water main while setting new power poles on College Street near Willis Road.
The line was repaired but while the water tanks were refilling, a fuse blew. To add insult to injury, in true Murphy’s Law fashion, while Entergy was on site repairing the blown fuse, a transformer also blew.
A new transformer has been set and water service has now been restored. However, residents are advised to continue boiling water until further notice.
Updates will be posted on both the Doyline Waterworks District #1 and the Village of Doyline Facebook pages.
As a reminder, water bills are mailed on the last day of each month and are due by the 15th of the following month. Disconnections have begun as of June,18.
Residents should also note that Doyline Waterworks District #1 and the Village of Doyline are separate entities.
