The Minden Evening Lions Club held its regular meeting on Thursday, June 26, during which the officers for the 2025–2026 term were officially installed by Jerry Madden.
Newly Installed Officers:
President: Christine Lee
First Vice President: Ryan Seegers
Secretary: Gary Seegers
Treasurer: Becky White
Membership Chairperson: Mike Trainor
Lion Tamer: Dru Brown
Tail Twister: Chris Conatser
“As the newly elected president of the Minden Evening Lions Club, I am honored to continue the legacy of service that has always defined our club,” Lee said.
The club is certainly not slowing down. In fact, they are currently active in several different community projects.
One of the club’s cornerstone projects is vision screening, which provides vital early detection of vision issues for both children and adults. In addition, the club collects used eyeglasses to help those in need. If you have old glasses that are no longer the right prescription for you, please consider donating them to the Lions Club.
Upcoming Vision Screenings are set for September and further details will be announced as they become available.
The club is also currently collecting items for two important causes:
Webster Parish Council on Aging
Items needed:
• Gifts for Bingo
• Paper Towels
• Toilet Paper
• Cleaning Supplies
• Coffee
Seeds Women’s Center
Items needed:
• Diapers and Wipes
• Bottles and Blankets
• Toys and Clothes
• Any essentials for baby and mom
Your donations to either of these causes are greatly appreciated and help the Lions Club continue its mission of service to the community. Please reach out to any one of the new officers to donate.
The club meets on the first and third Thursday of every month at 6 p.m.at the Minden Fairgrounds (800 Goodwill Street). New members are always welcome.
