The City of Minden has announced a special council meeting scheduled for 12:30 p.m. Monday, August 25 in Council Chambers at Minden City Hall to address personnel and budget matters.

On the agenda is a vote regarding the possible termination of Minden Police Department Lt. Jason Smith, following an internal investigation into his conduct that occurred on or about June 23, 2025.

Also on the agenda is a resolution to amend the 2024-2025 budget in order to replace cast iron plumbing at Minden City Hall. Project cost is estimated to be more than $45,500.

The meeting is open to the public and residents are encouraged to attend.
