A small electrical fire in a freezer prompted Minden City Fire Department to respond to report of a fire at Brookshire’s on Homer Road in Minden around 9:15 p.m. Friday.

“We found a small electrical fire in a freezer unit from a light fixture,” Fire Chief Brian Williams said. “It was extinguished quickly upon arrival and store personnel were able to resume normal operations very quickly.”

The fire department remained on scene while store personnel turned off power to the affected unit.
