Charges of domestic abuse battery and false imprisonment have been filed against a Springhill man for allegedly physically and sexually abusing his girlfriend over a period of several weeks.

Kevin Brian Hubbard, 41, a resident of the 400 block 4th St. SE, is currently being held at Bayou Dorcheat Correctional Center following his arrest Thursday, Aug. 21 by Springhill police. He reportedly is being held on $25,000 bond.

Springhill officers Amandia Hamilton and Emily Leamons reportedly responded to a call alleging physical and sexual abuse to a female by her live-in boyfriend since June.

On their arrival, officers reportedly found Hubbard outside his residence holding a hatchet and screaming that he did not want to go back to prison. Officers reportedly managed to calm the suspect and place him in custody.

During interviews, officers learned the suspect would allegedly ask for sex, then hit the victim if she declined and force her to have sex.

Hubbard reportedly admitted to the officers he gets high on methamphetamines and becomes violent. He also reportedly admitted to throwing things at the victim and punching her.

According to police, Hubbard has been charged four times previously for domestic abuse battery and twice for false imprisonment. He also reportedly has been charged with other violent offenses.

Further charges reportedly could be filed following a review by the Webster Parish District Attorney.
