What started as a theft response at a local discount store has landed a Shreveport woman in the parish prison on more serious drug related charges.
Minden police officers were dispatched to Walmart just after 9:30 p.m. Friday when employees reported suspects were attempting to leave the store without paying for merchandise. Officers learned the suspects had attempted to conceal slightly more than $240 in unpaid goods.
During a search of a small bag held by 44-year-old Kimberly Murray, officers reportedly found nine grams of suspected methamphetamines, two glass pipes commonly used to smoke methamphetamines and a number of pills.
Murray is charged with misdemeanor theft, resisting an officer, possession of CDS Sch. II (methamphetamines), possession CDS Sch. III (Buprenorphine Naloxone Hydrochloride), possession of CDS Sch. IV (Alprazolam), and possession of drug paraphernalia.
She reportedly is being held in the parish jail under a $7,002 bond.
