“Legends on Wheels: Chrome & Classic,” the 17th annual Car & Bike Show sponsored by the Vintage Car Club of Minden and the Minden Main Street Program unofficially dedicated the one-day-old parking lot in Historic Downtown Minden Saturday, Sept. 13, 2025.

Opening ceremonies began at 10 a.m., led by Minden Mayor Nick Cox. Col. Carl Thompson led the Pledge of Allegiance, with Pastor Ronnie Morris saying the prayer. The Star-Spangled Banner was sung by Nathan Richardson.

A crowd of over 200 people mingled among the 85-plus cars and motorcycles on a perfectly beautiful day. Actually, the festivities spread throughout downtown, from the courthouse parking lot to the front of the Minden Civic Center toward the corner of Hwy. 79-80 and East Union. If you liked vintage trucks, “the Flag” parking lot had a place to feast your eyes!

In addition to the featured wheels, the show featured DJ Milford Parker, along with live entertainment, food trucks, a lemonade stand, a taco stand, the bouncy house, and face painting by E.J. Colvin. The family-oriented car show once again featured two competitions, hula-hooping and dance-offs. Adult winners in both categories received $50, with children winning $25.

Although attendance and registration were both free, proceeds made by the Vintage Car Club will be distributed to the American Cancer Society, St. Jude’s, UCAP, and the NWLA Sickle Cell Association.

At exactly 11 a.m., registration for the show cut off, and members of the “Men of Courage” Christian group spread out to begin judging, which ended at 2 p.m. Results of the judging, including “Best in Show” and “Peoples’ Choice,” were as follows:
