Doyline town council wraps up end-of-year projects

The Village of Doyline held its regular monthly town council meeting on Monday, November 10, after a short postponement from the first Monday of the month due to illness among council members.

With the end of the year approaching, the council focused on wrapping up projects and finalizing expenditures before closing out 2025.

One of the key items on the agenda was the construction of a new maintenance shop. After reviewing bids, the council voted to award the project to Arklatex Builders. The facility will be located at the end of College Street, and construction is expected to begin soon.

In other business, the council approved Weaver Roofing to handle repairs on the roof of the old library and community center building. They are also considering additional improvements to the building as part of a broader effort to attract new businesses and activity to uptown Doyline.

The council further decided to use the remaining funds received from the Webster Parish Police Jury to purchase a prefabricated building to cover the town’s water well, which is an important measure as winter approaches.

Residents are reminded that the Doyline Town Council meets on the first Monday of each month at 6 p.m. at the Doyline Town Hall. Community members are encouraged to attend and stay informed about local projects and decisions affecting the village.
