Lakeside Lady Warriors pitchers proved too much for opponents last week, hurling a pair of shutouts in brief Friday contests.
Ella Wood gave up no hits in her three inning stint Friday and connected on a solo home run to lead the Lady Warriors past Minden 2-0. She struck out six and walked none.
A solo homer in the bottom of the third by Emily Jones provided the Lade Warriors’ final cushion.
Lakeside was sure-handed in the game, committing no errors.
Lakeside 9, Summerfield 0
Five runs in the second inning proved all the Lady Warriors would need in a 9-0 win over the Summerfield Lady Rebels.
Bray Lewis singled to score three runs, Madilynn Squyres added an RBI double and another scored on a passed ball. Raleah Harris singled, Maggie Mandino walked, Lewis walked, and Squyres walked, each scoring one run in the third for the Lady Warriors.
Lola Huddleston got the win for the Lady Warriors allowing just one hit over three innings while striking out two and walking one.
Squyres, Harris, Meredith Robinson, Lewis, and Ella Wood each collected one hit for Lakeside.
Next up for Lakeside is a game at Ouachita Parish on Thursday.
