The rains almost held off this past Saturday, at least long enough for hundreds of garden lovers to tour four of the most beautiful lawns, gardens, and outdoor creative spaces in the Minden area during the annual “Trails & Trellises.”
The tours, sponsored by the Piney Hills Master Gardeners, took place at the Almond Circle home of Jeanne Wiggins, the Renee McCollum White place on Chrislo Drive, the Toni Hooper Gardens and refreshments (wow!!) on Eames Street, and the Sugar Creek gardens of Syble McCleskey.
A large variety of plants grown by Louisiana Master Gardeners were available for sale at the Wiggins place for the duration of the tour from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.
The event was advertised as “rain or shine,” and the rains held off until nearly 1 p.m. Then the clouds opened up and drenched gardens and garden-lovers alike!
