Memorial Day: Do you know the true meaning?

Memorial Day is thought by many to be the start of summer vacation.

But the meaning of Memorial Day is much more serious.

It is “the day we pay homage to all those who didn’t come home,” explains author Tamra Bolton. “It is a day of solemn contemplation over the cost of freedom.”

It is a day to pause and reflect upon the many service members who risked and ultimately lost their lives fighting on behalf of the United States.

As you are enjoying an outdoor cookout with family and friends, watching a baseball game or just relaxing on a day off, remember those who gave their lives so that we may all enjoy those things. Remember them and say a prayer for their families, even if you never knew them.
