A century is a long time, but that’s OK with Lavonne Miller who celebrated a century of birthdays Wednesday.

“You can change yourself, but time doesn’t change,” Miller said. “I hope I have a lot more birthdays.”

Her celebration was held at The Columns of Minden where she has been a resident quite a long time.

Surrounded by her family, Miller had cake, punch, food and a huge room full of people to help her celebrate. Minden Mayor Nick Cox presented her with a signed decree proclaiming Wednesday as Lavonne Miller Day.
