A Minden man is being held in the parish prison accused of attacking his girlfriend and another female during an apparent rage at a Hillside Lane residence.
Tracy Darnelle Moore, Jr., a 34-year-old resident of the 100 block of Claiborne St., is charged with battery of a dating partner with strangulation and simple battery for the Tuesday night incident.
He is being held on a $500 bond for the simple battery charge; No bond has been set for battery with strangulation.
Chief of Police Jared McIver said Officer Randal Carter was dispatched around 10:30 Tuesday to a report of a man physically attacking his girlfriend. After arriving, the officer took Moore into custody and interviewed victims.
According to statements, Moore punched his girlfriend in the face with a closed fist while she sat inside her vehicle. He then allegedly began choking her. During a search of the vehicle, the officer reportedly found blood in the passenger area.
Moore then allegedly attacked a female taxi driver who was delivering a passenger to the Hillside Lane address. According to statements, the driver had never met Moore.
While in custody at police headquarters, Moore reportedly made threatening statements directed at his girlfriend. He then reportedly claimed he would “come see the officers when he was released.”
McIver said Moore has a lengthy criminal history including force and violence toward police officers.
