Thunderstorms and possible tornadoes plagued north Webster Parish throughout Tuesday.
Webster Parish north end was issued a severe thunderstorm warning at 4:30 a.m. The area received heavy rain, with 78 100s of an inch and wind gusts upwards to 33 mph.
Later, the parish was placed under a flash flood warning. With Springhill having the most significant rain at 3.11 inches as of 7 a.m. on June 24. (All readings are taken each morning at 7 a.m.)
Later in the evening Webster Parish and parts of Bossier Parish were placed under a tornado warning at 8:35 p.m.
The radar showed a possible tornado on the Louisiana/Arkansas line, just north of Plain Dealing. There were reports of several power outages around Mott and Plain Dealing.
Around 8:55 p.m. another radar signature appeared over state line, just north of Springhill. This radar signature showed there could be a small spin up tornado on the ground mostly in the woods, lasting approximately 3 minutes.
On the attached radar images below, you can see the signature near Springhill by the green area in the wind velocities.
In Springhill pea-sized hail, very heavy rain and a sustained wind at 44 mph and a gust of 51 mph were noted.
