Springhill police have arrested two people on drug charges in separate incidents after traffic stops on consecutive days.

Chief of Police Will Lynd said 61-year-old Sterling L. Largent Jr. of Sarepta was stopped Friday for a traffic offense and during questioning, officers noticed a bulge in one of his socks.

When questioned, Largent reportedly admitted he was in possession of methamphetamines. He reportedly also told officers more of the drug could be found in a shaving bag in the back of his truck.

Largent was booked into Bayou Dorcheat Correctional Center for possession of CDS Sch. II (methamphetamines), possession of drug paraphernalia and expired registration. His bond has been set at $3,502.

One day later, Jennifer Reno Fantini, a 43-year-old Magnolia, Arkansas resident, was arrested on a drug charge after the vehicle in which she was a passenger was stopped for a traffic violation.

During routine questioning, Fantini reportedly admitted to Springhill officers that narcotics could be found inside the vehicle. During a subsequent search, officers found two bags of methamphetamines and a glass pipe commonly used to smoke narcotics inside Fantini’s purse.

She was booked into the parish jail on charges of possession of CDS Sch. II (methamphetamines) and possession of drug paraphernalia. Bond has been set at $3,501.
