A lengthy investigation by Webster Parish Sheriff’s detectives has resulted in the arrest of a Minden man on a number of charges involving distribution of illegal narcotics.
Sheriff Jason Parker said 37-year-old JoMarcus Marcell Wilson was recently arrested after investigators obtained a search warrant and initiated a traffic stop.
Wilson, a resident of the 300 block of N. Fairview St., is looking at charges of possession CDS Sch. II (methamphetamines) with intent to distribute, possession of CDS Sch. I (marijuana) with intent to distribute, possession of CDS Sch. I (synthetic marijuana) with intent to distribute and two traffic offenses.
Parker said Wilson was stopped at the intersection of High and West streets, and while investigators were approaching the vehicle, he reportedly attempted to swallow roughly 19 grams of marijuana. He relinquished the narcotics after he was removed from the vehicle.
During a search at the traffic stop, deputies reportedly found $622 in cash on Wilson’s person. At his N. Fairview residence, investigators reportedly discovered 42.1 grams of methamphetamine, 119 grams marijuana and 16 grams synthetic marijuana in the master bedroom.
“Detectives Ben Allen, Shawn Jenkins and Anthony Miller did an outstanding job of building a case against Mr. Wilson,” Parker said. “They worked a lot of hours to develop the evidence necessary to make the arrest. We want people in our parish to know we’re always on the lookout for this type of activity and no matter how long it takes, we will be coming for you.”
