Some of Louisiana’s most accomplished young women will make their way to Minden later this month as the Miss Louisiana Volunteer Organization hosts the 2027 Miss Louisiana Volunteer State Pageant July 30 through Aug. 1 at the Minden Civic Center.
Over the course of three days, contestants from across the state will participate in personal interviews, rehearsals, community appearances and preliminary competitions, all leading up to the crowning of Louisiana’s next Miss Louisiana Volunteer and Miss Louisiana Teen Volunteer during the state finals on Saturday evening.
More than just a pageant, the Miss Louisiana Volunteer Organization is built around scholarship, service and leadership. Through the program, young women have opportunities to develop professionally, strengthen leadership skills and give back to their communities while competing for more than $100,000 in scholarships and prizes.
This year’s production, themed “One in a Million,” promises an energetic and entertaining experience inspired by the glamour of the disco era with a fun nod to the popular film Miss Congeniality. Organizers say audiences can expect an evening filled with original choreography, live entertainment, dazzling visuals and plenty of unforgettable moments that celebrate what makes each contestant unique.
Hosting the state competition also brings a meaningful boost to the local economy. Families, volunteers, judges and supporters from across Louisiana are expected to spend the weekend in Webster Parish, providing increased business for local hotels, restaurants and retailers.
“We’re excited to showcase not only the incredible young women competing, but also the hospitality and spirit of our community,” said Kayla Rodriguez, executive director of Miss Louisiana Volunteer. “Every contestant who walks across our stage represents a future leader, and we’re honored to provide opportunities that encourage service, scholarship and personal growth.”
In addition to the Miss and Teen competitions, the weekend will include the Magnolia Princess Experience, giving younger girls an opportunity to participate in activities and experience the excitement of the state pageant alongside the contestants.
The public is invited to attend the Miss Louisiana Volunteer State Finals at 7 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 1, at the Minden Civic Center. Before the competition begins, VIP ticket holders and sponsors will enjoy the Blue Carpet Reception, an exclusive event celebrating the contestants before they take the stage.
