A refreshing glass of lemonade can do more than cool you off this summer… It can help local Girl Scouts build leadership skills, serve their community and create lifelong memories.

Girl Scout Troop 203 will host a community lemonade stand fundraiser on Saturday, Aug. 1, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Angel Park, located at the corner of Main Street and North Monroe Street in Minden.

Led by Troop Leader LaTianna Bernestine, the fundraiser will help provide opportunities for the girls to participate in camping adventures, earn badges, complete community service projects, take part in leadership activities and enjoy meaningful troop experiences throughout the year.

“Our girls are learning confidence, teamwork and leadership through every activity they participate in,” Bernestine said. “Community support helps make those opportunities possible, and we hope everyone will stop by for a cup of lemonade and help invest in these amazing young leaders.”

Customers can enjoy regular lemonade for $2 or choose from a variety of flavored lemonades for $3, with all proceeds benefiting the troop’s upcoming activities.

Beyond raising funds, the lemonade stand also gives the Girl Scouts a chance to practice important life skills, including customer service, communication, money management and entrepreneurship, while engaging with members of the community.

Every cup purchased helps create new opportunities for the girls to learn, grow, serve others and make lasting memories.
