Calling all creatives: Mardi Gras in Minden needs a new look

By Paige Gurgainers

The Minden Main Street District is getting a new look for the upcoming Mardi Gras season, and local artists and creatives are being invited to help create it.

After years of celebrating with the familiar “Minden Fasching & Karneval Parade” logo, organizers are looking to the community for a fresh design that will become the new official logo of Minden Mardi Gras.

The logo design contest is open to professional artists, graphic designers, students and anyone in the community with a creative vision for what Mardi Gras in Minden represents.

The winning design will serve as the face of Minden Mardi Gras and may be featured across a variety of promotional materials, including signage, merchandise, social media and other marketing efforts. Because of the different ways the logo will be used, all entries must be submitted in a digital format suitable for reproduction.

Organizers are encouraging participants to use their creativity to capture the spirit, personality and tradition of Mardi Gras in Minden while helping shape the celebration’s identity moving forward.

In addition to seeing their artwork become part of Minden Mardi Gras history, the winning artist will receive a $150 cash prize and one free float entry in the 2027 Minden Mardi Gras Parade.

The contest gives local creatives an opportunity to leave their mark on a tradition that brings residents and visitors together each year. The selected logo could represent the celebration of everything from parade promotions to merchandise for years to come.

Submissions will be accepted through Sept. 15, 2026, and entries should be emailed to mainstreet@mindenusa.com.

With a new year of Mardi Gras festivities ahead, organizers are looking forward to seeing how the community puts its own creative spin on one of Minden’s favorite celebrations.

Let the good times roll… and the creativity begin!
