Breaking News: Police ask assistance to solve commercial burglary

Minden police detectives are requesting assistance from the public to help identify a suspect in the Sept. 1 robbery of the Burger King on Homer Rd.

At approximately 3:23 a.m. on that date, Minden patrol officers responded to a burglar alarm at the Burger King. The alarm company informed arriving officers that security cameras showed a black male wearing all black inside the restaurant. Upon arrival, patrol officers secured the restaurant.

According to the alarm company, security cameras showed a black male enter the restaurant through the side door, walk directly to the office, open the unsecured safe, take the money bag and quickly exit the restaurant walking toward Park Highway.

Detectives arrived at the scene, processed it and collected DNA evidence. Detectives reviewed the camera footage and noticed the black male used a key to enter the side door by the drive thru.

Detectives believe that the suspect was a former employee or associated with a current employee.

Detectives gained additional camera footage from the El Jimador restaurant across the street, which showed the black male suspect initially walking down Park Hwy. before doubling back toward the Homer Rd. and running toward Regions Bank.

The Minden Police Department Criminal Investigations Division needs assistance identifying the suspect involved in this commercial burglary. The Criminal Investigations Division encourages anyone who has information about this incident to contact Det. Matthew Hicks (318-639-7776).

Any information will be confidential.
