A search for four small pink pumpkins will begin across Webster Parish this October as SelectDrive brings back its Pink Pumpkin Treasure Hunt in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

SelectDrive owner Jared Miller said he will begin releasing clues on the business’s Facebook page Oct. 1. Each hidden pumpkin is worth $500 cash to the person who finds it, giving hunters until the end of October to find all four.

SelectDrive will also make a donation to the National Breast Cancer Foundation in each finder’s honor. If any pumpkins remain unfound at the end of the month, their cash prize amounts will be donated to the foundation as well.

Miller said the hunt reflects the business’s love of using community events to raise awareness and support charitable causes. SelectDrive also hosts a “Forgotten Egg” treasure hunt for St. Jude the week after Easter.

“Sure, this helps promote my local businesses, but this is an opportunity for us to give back in a fun way,” Miller said.

According to the event flyer, pumpkins will be hidden only in safe, publicly accessible locations. Participants are asked to respect public and private property while searching.
