A north Webster Parish woman was seen stealing and defacing campaign signs, something most people may not know is a crime. According to law, it is a misdemeanor, and the penalty depends on the value of the sign and the specific charges filed by law enforcement.
State law reads “Damaging, destroying or stealing a campaign sign that is placed on private property with the owner’s permission violates Louisiana’s criminal laws against theft, criminal mischief or trespassing.
