Lakeside will host its homecoming court coronation Friday night. What’s unique about Lakeside is that no one but administration knows who the queen is until the ceremony. The anticipation has been building ever since the court was announced several weeks ago.
The Journal partnered with the local school to bring our readers the bios of each member of the 2021-2022 Lakeside High School Homecoming Court.
9th grade maids
Rita is the daughter of Cody Dillon and Brandon and Allison Gaston. At Lakeside, she is involved as a cheerleader. Rita also enjoys going to the lake, riding jet skis with her best friend, cooking and going to Bible study. Rita hopes to make many new memories this year as a freshman that will last a lifetime. Rita would like to attend LSU and complete a 4-year undergraduate degree. Then she wants to attend Vet school and obtain a doctorate in Veterinary Medicine.
Olivia is the daughter of Rachael Deloach. At Lakeside, she is a varsity cheerleader. Olivia also enjoys spending time with family, friends and Facetimes with her online friends. She also enjoys watching older movies and comparing them to movies that are being made now. Oliva doesn’t just have one favorite memory but hopes to make many new memories this year with the amazing people that surround her. After Olivia graduates she plans to attend the University of California to obtain a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a medical degree. She would like to become an OB/GYN in the future.
10th grade maids
Laiklyn Charlene Squyres
Laiklyn is the daughter of Luke Squyres and Toni Hartz. At Lakeside, she is a member of the Lady Warriors softball and basketball team and maintains the honor roll. She also enjoys raising money for St. Jude Research Hospital. Outside of school, Laiklyn enjoys playing softball, basketball, spending time with family, and hanging out with her friends. A favorite memory is winning district softball last year. Laiklyn wants to attend Louisiana Tech and become a Physical Therapist for sports medicine.
Rainie is the daughter of Rachel Stewart and Mike Hughes. At Lakeside she is a member of the Lady Warriors softball and basketball team. She is also the reporter for the student council. Outside of school, Raine enjoys hanging out with friends and spending time with family. After high school, she would like to attend Texas A&M Health and Science Center to become a licensed pharmacy technician.
11th grade maids
Krystal KaTina Cornelious
Krystal is the daughter of Tina Myles and Theodis Corelnious, Jr.. At Lakeside she is a member of the National Honor Society, Varsity track team, FBLA, Junior class President and a Cheerleader. Outside of school, Krystal enjoys hanging out with friends and spending time with family. She also likes to trail ride and play video games. After high school, she would like to attend the National Honor Guard then go to Southern University and A&M college to major in Criminal Justice and eventually become a Narcotic Police Officer.
Clara Margaret Robinson
Clara is the daughter of Justin and Haley Robison. At Lakeside, Clara is a member of 4H, FFA, FBLA, a member of the basketball team and the track team. Outside of Lakeside, she is a member of Yellow Pine Christian Church, a member of the Webster Parish Livestock Club, Cajun Little Britches Rodeo Association, and a counselor at Redeemed Ranch Camp. In her free time, she enjoys barrel racing, showing livestock, hunting, riding horses and spending time with family. Clara’s favorite memory is being able to decorate homecoming floats with her classmates, parade activities and dress up days at school. Clara would like to attend Southern Arkansas University and compete on the rodeo team.
12th grade maids
Sydney Grace Robinson
Sydney is the daughter of Thomas and Christin Robinson. At Lakeside she is a member of the yearbook staff, National Honor Society and the Lady Warriors Softball team. She also maintains the honor roll and attends the Minden Presbyterian Church. In her free time, she enjoys playing softball, going hunting and fishing, spending time with her family and friends and taking care of her baby sister. Her favorite memory is raising money for St. Jude. Sydney plans to attend college and become a Rad Tech and further her career in softball.
Kendall is the daughter of Luke Squyres and Toni Hartz. At Lakeside, Kendall was a varsity cheerleader for 5 years. She maintains the A honor roll and was awarded the most “down to earth” award for 2017-2018 cheer squad. Her favorite memory at school is taking the medical assistant class with Coach Roberson and becoming certified as a medical assistant. They made the best of memories in that class. Outside of school, she enjoys spending time with her family, friends and her boyfriend. After high school, Kendall plans to become a registered nurse and attend Northwestern State University in Shreveport where she will earn her bachelor’s degree in the Science of Nursing. She loves to help people and is excited to help people in her future career. She wants to make her Nana proud of the person she has become.
Claire is the daughter of Phildon and Rachel Gray. At Lakeside, Claire is the cheer captain of the 2021-2022 cheerleading team. Her favorite memories at school are – when Lakeside won their first playoff football game, when the basketball and baseball boys came to cheer with them and when Mrs. Hooter let her eat with her everyday during teacher appreciation week. In her free time she enjoys spending time with family and friends, cheering on the Warriors on Friday nights, going shopping with her mom, going to the beach and the lake, and hanging out with her best friend, Laci. Claire plans on going to college to get a business degree and become a flight attendant so she can travel the world and study to get her insurance license and eventually own her own insurance agency.
Alyssa is the daughter of Justin and Angela Culpepper. Her favorite memory at school is Homecoming week. In her freetime she enjoys rodeos, shopping, spending time with family and friends, and attending her youth group at church. After High school she plans to attend Southern Arkansas University to study in pre-veterinary Science and participate in college rodeo.
Jayla is the daughter of Jeremy and Teneisha Braggs. At Lakeside, she plays point guard for Lady Warrior Basketball, was chosen for womens MVP for Lakeside’s track team and is a debutante. She also completed the certified medical assistant course. In Jayla’s free time she enjoys basketball, track, drawing, doing hair & makeup and spending time with her family. Her favorite school memory is playing musical chairs at a pep rally where she wrestled a boy over a chair and won. Jayla plans to attend HBCU Grambling State University and continue nursing school. She would like to be a part of Delta Sigma Theta at Grambling State.
