Minden High School will host its homecoming court coronation Friday night.
The Journal partnered with the local school to bring our readers the bios of each member of the 2021-2022 Minden High School Homecoming Court.
QUEEN – Brianna Ke’Shay Davis
Brianna is the daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Brandon Davis, Sr. Lieutenant of MHS Louisi-Annes. She is a 3-year member of the Minden High Student Council. Brianna is also a member of the National Honor Society and takes dual enrollment and honors classes at Minden High School.
PRINCESSES – Cammy Edwards & Ada-Faith Kennon-Gilbert
Cammy is the daughter of Jim Edwards and Tara Edwards. Cammy is a past president of Future Business Leaders of America. She is a member of 4-H and Student Council. She shows athletic skills here at Minden High being on the track team, tennis team, push up squad and the cross country team. Cammy is very active in the MHS JROTC program where is currently the Battalion Commander.
Ada-Faith is the daughter of the late Verdis Gilbert and Mrs. Fayrine Kennon-Gilbert. She is a 3-year member of the Minden Crimson Tide cheerleading team, currently serving as leader.
She is a proud member of the Minden High School student council and Webster Parish Youth Leadership. She showcases her athletic skill on the MHS Lady Tider softball team.
FOOTBALL SWEETHEARTS – Lauren Cheatham & Bailey Marie Paul
Lauren is the daughter of Mrs. Ashley James and Mr. Kenneth James. Lauren is a member of the National Honor Society and has served on the Student Council for 2 years. She was elected treasurer for her class. Lauren is a member of Webster Parish Youth Leadership. She has been cheering the Crimson Tide for 3 years, chosen as an All-American Cheerleader for 2 years and currently is a leader on the team.
Bailey is the President of her class. She has served on the Student Council for 4 years, this year as Senior Senator. Bailey is a member of the varsity track team, 4-H, and Webster Parish Youth Leadership. She is the Captain of the Minden High Cheerleaders and a 3 year All-American. She has also been honored as Athlete of the Week. Bailey is the daughter of Steven and Kelly Paul.
SENIOR SPIRIT MAIDS – Brooke Barrett, Mallory Pesnell
& Kaylaan Washington
Brooke is a 3-year member of the Minden Crimson Lady Tider basketball team. She is an honor student that is
proud to be a member of the National Honor Society. For the past 3 years, Brooke has served on the MHS Grig staff. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jamie Barrett.
Mallory is the daughter of Dan and Amanda Pesnell. She is a 4-year member and Captain of the Crimson Tide soccer team. She is a 4-year member of the MHS Student Council and was elected as treasurer this year. Mallory is very active in First Priority. She has served as vice president her sophomore and junior year and is currently serving as President.
Kaylaan is the daughter of Mr. Kevin Washington and Mrs. Debbie Washington. Kaylaan is a 3 year member of the Minden High LaAnnes. She has been on the Minden High Grig staff for 4 years. She currently reigns as our MHS Darling.
SENIOR CLASS MAIDS – Alex Guin & Anna Grace Harris
Alex is an honor student and actively involved in Student Council for 4 years where she has been Vice President both her junior and senior year. She is a 3rd year member of the Louisi-Annes serving as Captain this year. She also shows her skills on the golf course as a member of the MHS golf team where she placed as a regional finalist last year. She is the daughter of Mrs. Terri Guin and Glen Guin.
Anna Grace is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jonathan Harris. She is a 3-year member of MHS Student Council serving as secretary her junior year and President this year. She is a 3-year manager of the LaAnnes. Anna Grace was a regional finalist this year on the links for the Crimson Tide Golf Team.
JUNIOR CLASS MAIDS – Ariel Cage & Tyliayah Smith
Ariel is a 2 year member of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Academy of Pearls. She is proud to be cheering the Crimson Tide to victory as a 3rd year varsity cheerleader this year she was elected leader. She is very proud of receiving a certified CNA at the age of 16. She is the daughter of Mrs. Keiauna Hudson and Mr. Chris and Mrs. Christi Cage.
Tyliayah is the daughter of Carmesha George and De’Tyson Smith. She is a 2 year member of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority AKAdemy of Pearls. She is a member of the Envision Lead Grow, Boss Up program. Tyliayah is active in the NAACP.
SOPHOMORE CLASS MAIDS – Aliysha Butler & Breyana Washington
Aliysha is a member of the Minden High School Student Council. She is a member of the Youth Advisory Council. She is active in the Delta G.E.M.S sponsored by Delta Sigma Theta Sorority. She is the daughter of Latausha & Shawn Eddings and Arthur Henderson.
Breyana is the daughter of Damian & Denise Flournoy and Kelly and LaTori Combs. She serves her peers as Sophomore class president. She is a first year member of the MHS Louisi-Annes. She is a member of the Jack & Jill Red River chapter and is the foundation chair.
FRESHMAN CLASS MAIDS – Maygan Dison & Leigha Kennon- Gilbert
Maygan is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Nicholas Dison. Maygan participates in the Minden High theater. She is in honors classes and is currently on the A honor roll. She currently serves as the Minden Lady Tider softball manager and volunteers in the concession stand with them during football games.
Leigha is the daughter of the late Verdis Gilbert and Fayrine Kennon-Gilbert. She is a member of the Minden High School Red Wave where she serves as Captain. She takes honors classes at MHS and is currently on the A honor roll. Leigha shows her skills on the softball field as a proud member of the Minden Crimson Lady Tider softball team.
