The North Webster Knights are set for a district 1-3A showdown with the Loyola Flyers.
Both teams enter coming off wins in their previous game as the Knights snapped a 4-game losing streak against Lakeside, while Loyola picked up a big win over fellow 1-3A school Bossier.
The Knights got another heroic effort from senior Jamarcus Stephens on offense in week 7 as the do-it-all athlete rushed for over 120 yards and three touchdowns. The defense was led by fellow senior Jatareon Robinson who totaled 8 tackles in the win.
North Webster is up against an undoubtedly tougher test this week as Loyola quieted the potent Bossier offense and has been lighting up scoreboards all season long.
The Knights will need to be at their best on defense, and the offense desperately needs someone to step up and make plays alongside Stephens.
If the Knights are unsuccessful in their quest to upset the Flyers, it could be curtains for their playoff hopes. North Webster currently sits at No. 27 in the LHSAA power ratings for class 3A.
North Webster will hit the road for the first time in four weeks for Friday night’s contest, which kicks off at 7 pm from Shreveport’s Messemer Stadium.
