Fire Fighter/Operator Cory Plunkett is Minden’s newest Fire Captain, thanks to a vote by the Minden City Council.
“He’s (Plunkett) been on the job for over 7 years,” Mourad told the council during the regular meeting Monday night. “Guy Mandino retired in April, and I would like to recommend Cory for that position.”
Plunkett passed the Fire Captain Civil Service Board exam with a score of 85 percent.
With a motion from District A councilman Wayne Edwards and a second from District B councilwoman Terika Willilams-Walker, Plunkett’s promotion received a unanimous vote.
