
Doyline Panthers claimed a 14-8 victory on Monday, despite a big push by Haynesville in the seventh inning. Haynesville’s big inning was driven by singles by AJ Vines and Kyler Foster and a double by Jovanni Rodriguez.
Both pitching staffs had their hands full, frequently dealing with runners on base. Doyline collected 11 hits and Haynesville had eight.
The Panthers fired up the offense in the first inning, when Dakota Stewart doubled on a 3-2 count, scoring one run.
The team tallied five runs in the third inning a rally led by Stewart and a groundout by Benton Bates.
Caysten Mingo got the start for Doyline Panthers. Mingo allowed one hit and no runs over three innings, striking out eight and walking one.
Vines started the game for Haynesville. The hurler went three innings, allowing ten runs on nine hits and striking out three. Hunter Lablanc threw four innings in relief.
Doyline Panthers tallied 11 hits in the game. Kenneth Lee, Noah Spears, Austin Arbaugh, and Bates all managed multiple hits. Lee led with three hits in four at bats. Doyline stole 12 bases during the game as two players stole more than one. Lee led the way with four.
Haynesville had eight hits in the game. Rodriguez and Lablanc each collected multiple hits for Haynesville. Rodriguez went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Haynesville in hits.
