Airline’s Leo Heng surrendered just three hits over five and two-thirds innings and drove in the only run his team would need with a first inning single to lead the Vikings to a 5-0 win over Minden Thursday.
Bryson Ranger took the loss for the Tide, going the distance while giving up five runs (four earned) on eight hits, striking out three and walking three. Landyn Huddleston went 2-for-3 to lead the Tide hitters.
Bo Carter and Crew Chandler each collected two hits for Airline and Carter picked up two RBI.
Minden 7 Many 4
Minden rebounded Friday, taking a 7-4 win over the Many, using 10 hits and seven stolen bases to get past the Tigers Friday.
Minden got on the board in the first when Keegan Pope singled to drive in one run before the Tide added to its early lead in the bottom of the second inning. Bray Winston singled and Bryson Ranger walked, each scoring one run.
Winston earned the win for Minden, giving up two hits and four runs (zero earned) over three and two-thirds innings. Landyn Huddleston collected the save.
Minden’s 10-hit parade was led by Hudson Brown, Jaxon Smith, and Rider Miller each with two hits. Winston went 1-for-3 at the plate and led the team with two runs batted in and two stolen bases.
Ryder Gunter, Brock Sylvia, and Evan Early each collected one hit for Many.
Minden 6 Pine Tree 2
Bryson Ranger collected three hits in three at bats, leading the Minden Crimson Tide past Pine Tree 6-2 Saturday at Lakeside High School park.
Ranger’s single put Minden on the board in the top of the first, but MJ Cates singled to help Pine Tree tie the game at two in the bottom of the second.
Minden took the lead for good in the top of the fourth when Hudson Brown doubled, scoring one run, to give the Tide a 3-2 margin.
Jaxon Smith earned the win for Minden, going the distance while allowing five hits and two runs (one earned), striking out six and walking two. Zachary Duhart took the loss for Pine Tree.
Landyn Huddleston collected two hits in three at bats for Minden.
Chris Nickoles, Trey Nafrady, Cates, Peyton Hightree, and Bosston Johnson each collected one hit for Pine Tree.
Minden 5, Quitman 0
Landyn Huddleston had a single, double and triple in four at bats, leading the Minden Crimson Tide past Quitman’s Wolverines 5-0 Monday at Quitman.
Bray Winston notched the shutout win for the Tide, allowing six hits with five strikeouts and three walks in his complete game effort. Kace West took the loss for Quitman.
Huddleston’s first inning RBI triple got the Crimson Tide started, and Winston’s fielder’s choice grounder made it 2-0 in the second. The Tide added single runs to complete the win.
Minden’s next scheduled game is a Thursday contest against Cedar Creek.
