Glenbrook got out to a four-run lead in the fifth inning and held on for a 5-4 victory over the Glenmora Wildcats Thursday.
Hudson Glasscock’s RBI single in the bottom of the sixth proved to be the difference in the game.
Glenbrook got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after Jackson Waller singled and Dawson Day homered, each scoring one run. Waller’s solo homer in the bottom the fifth had given the Apaches a 4-3 lead in the bottom the fifth.
Brayden Watkins earned the win in one inning of relief for Glenbrook.
Opelousas 4, Lady Apaches 1
Number two seed Opelousas Catholic proved too much for the 10th seed Glenbrook Lady Apaches Friday, taking a 4-1 win in the LHSAA Division IV (Select) state softball playoffs.
Opelousas Catholic got on the board in the bottom of the first inning with a pair of runs, then Emma Ludeau nailed a solo home run to push the Lady Vikings up 3-0 in the second.
Ashley Little earned the win for the Lady Vikings, allowing three hits and over seven innings while striking out 10 and walking two. Rebecca Mosley took the loss for Glenbrook.
Vivian Still, Colby Hollis, and Chloe Gregg each had one hit for Glenbrook the Lady Apaches.
